Final campaign CLIMAITE is approaching the end. A final measurement campaign will be conducted in connection to this years drought in June, where many scientists from different disciplines will sample a range of responses to highlight the long term impacts of climate change treatments.

Merian Skouw Haugwitz will defend her PhD "Soil fungal community responses to global change". The PhD was carried out within the CLIMAITE project at the Biologicasl Department at Copenhagen University. The defence will take place 28th February 2013, 1 pm, in Auditorium A, Bygning 1, Universitetsparken 15, 2100 Copenhagen �.

Sabine Reinsch defended her PhD "Long-term climate change effects on root dynamics of micro organisms and carbon in the root-zone" 15. February 2013 at DTU. The PhD was carried out within the CLIMAITE project

CLIMAITE I NATURE
CLIMAITE har publiceret sit f�rste paper i Nature Climate Change. Artiklen handler om hvordan �get angreb af gr�shopper og andre plante�dere stimulerer den underjordiske nedbrydning af organisk materiale, og hvordan klima�ndringer stimulerer gr�shopppers aktivitet. Tilsammen antyder dette, at klima�ndringerne kan lede til en uheldig selvforst�rkende cirkel, med �get aktivitet af plnte�dere der stimulerer frigivelsen af CO2 fra jorden som f�rer til �gede klima�ndringer. Jane Kongstad Nielsen defended her PhD "Plant Community Responses to Climate Change" 23. maj 2012. The PhD was carried out within the CLIMAITE project at Copenhagen University.

Marie Arndal defended her PhD on "Root Dynamics and Belowground Carbon Input in a Changing Climate" 3rd May 2012. The PhD thesis describes the root responses to the climate change treatments within the CLIMAITE experiment. The PhD was carried out at Copenhagen University.

Claus Beier et al. published recommendations for future precipitation change experiments in Ecology Letters. The recommendations are based on outcomes from the workshop held together with the ESF networking activity CLIMMANI in Basel 2010.

The CLIMAITE N syntheses (Larsen et al., GCB, 2010) has been selected as Faculty of 1000 (http://f1000.com/) which places the work in the top 2% of published articles in biology and medicine.
